Log Splitting Axes and Hatchets

Firepoint wood processing axes are the finest available. The axes and hatchets are superbly balanced, making wood cutting both pleasurable and as safe as possible. The axe handles are available in fine grain hickory for the traditionalist, or carbon for the technocrat, but both are attached to the axe head with a bolted clamping system, allowing the head to be removed easily.

Log Splitting Axe

Hatchet

Firepoint axes and hatchets are drop forged from carbon maganese steel, heated in a lead bath to temperatures of up to 850 deg C and cooled in an oil bath. This gives the blade its high hardness value of 47-55 HRC according to DIN 7287. The blades are then stress relieved in a tempering furnace and sharpened manually.

The Vario range has hickory handles whilst the Forever range has fibreglass reinforced handles.

The Vario patented axe and hatchet range have ergonomically shaped hickory handles and an impact protection system.
The forged axe blade is held in place by a secure mounting plate enabling quick and easy removal.
